The Department of Commerce has come in existence along with the establishment of the University one
of the founding department of the University. Department have seven sanctioned permanent faculty
seats comprising Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor. Faculty members with research
and teaching interests that cover a broad range of fields as Finance, Accounting, Taxation, Marketing
and Human Resource Management. Apart from having strength in traditional areas department is also
working on interdisciplinary research and project work. Department is running Ph.D., Post Graduate (M.
Com.) and Diploma Courses in campus and Under Graduate (B. Com) in affiliated colleges. Department
has implemented new syllabus as per National Education Policy (NEP). There is also a provision for the
dual degree for students of university. The entry to the Ph.D. program is through a written test and a
viva exam conducted once at the beginning of each academic year. The entry to the M.Com is trough

The department vision statement is to incorporate vision statement of the institute by develop human
resource for furtherance of knowledge through teaching, research and innovation and to highest rank
amongst the top department of the institute and among institutions of the world for better service to
humanity in general and our nation in particular.
The planning to achieve above objective is through lecture, cases, videos, anecdote circles
(group discussions designed to elicit stories from others, through skillful facilitation), and
individual practice sessions in class that will hone the skills. Use short business cases across
multiple domains. Students will practice linking a story to reinforce their decision.
