About the Department
The Department of Geography works to derive a better
understanding of our planet, the resources that support
society and the challenge of sustainability. We use a
variety of methods and tools to address our syllabus,
including field work, laboratory and experimental studies,
and computer modeling. The Department of Geography is
one of the important Department established by
JANANAYAK CHANDRASHEKHAR UNIVERSITY, Ballia. It
is offering post graduate degrees in GEOGRAPHY . The
Department of Geography is committed to educating a
new generation of scholars who will reflect the diversity of
intellectual perspectives, life experiences, and cultural
backgrounds represented in society today.
Mission & Vision
To lead the development of academic, educational, and research directions of
human and natural systems, Urban and Rural Problems and geospatial
information science, harnessing the integrative nature of geographic science
to answer fundamental questions of global importance.
The Department of Geography’s mission is to provide its students with
educational experiences of the highest quality and to conduct vital research that
produces valuable publications. The department is committed to outstanding
teaching and scholarly activities within the framework of academic freedom and
diversity of ideas. The Department of Geography is dedicated to the
